Jessica Diaz is an environmental justice advocate and scholar passionate about linking aquatic ecosystems and human communities. She draws on her lived experiences as a Mexican-American who grew up on the frontlines of the fossil fuel industry in Houston, TX. Living the realities of the climate crisis in an immigrant home has brought her to the intersection of ecology and culture. Currently, Jessica is researching oyster restoration in the Baltimore Harbor with the goal of realizing a community-led vision of a healthy harbor for all.
